Planning a trip to Mt. Bachelor in the near future?
We’ve been buzzing with excitement in Central Oregon since Mt. Bachelor announced the addition of the new Cloudchaser lift. Cloudchaser, a high-speed detachable quad chairlift, will provide greater protection from the elements during storms and add 635 acres to the lift-served terrain at Mt. Bachelor. With the addition of Cloudchaser, this makes Mt. Bachelor the 5th largest ski area in the United States. Cloudchaser and more terrain provide one more excellent reason to book a Sunriver ski vacation with Village Properties at Sunriver.
If you’ve visited Central Oregon recently, you may have noticed that we love our craft beer. In fact, Bend, Oregon is the nation’s leader in the number of breweries per capita and has come to be known as “Beer City USA.” This area currently has 22 breweries (and counting). With so many breweries and so little time, the Bend Ale Trail was created to offer a self-guided tour to experience 16 beloved breweries scattered throughout Bend, Sunriver, Sisters and Redmond.
Exploring the Lava Lands while visiting or living in Sunriver has never been easier. Whether you prefer driving the short distance to the Lava Lands Visitor Center via Highway 97, or taking the Sun-Lava Trail, a 5.5-mile paved bike path that connects with Sunriver and the Benham Falls day use area along the Deschutes River, you’ll be able to see the beautiful, volcanic history that makes up the geography of Central Oregon. Visiting the Lava Lands is one of our favorite things to do near Sunriver and we think you’ll enjoy the sights as well.
Spring in Central Oregon is one of the greatest times of year. With Mt. Bachelor Springtacular skiing still open, snow from mountain bike trails starting to melt off and the weather in Sunriver near perfect for spring golfing, it’s the ideal place to spend your free time before the heat of summer.
Christmas tree season is here! Whether you’re a Sunriver local, or visiting for the holiday season, a fresh-cut tree will brighten up your holiday home. Village Properties has US Forest Service tree cutting permits available at our office, 56835 Venture Lane Suite 109, for only $5. These permits allow you to cut your own tree from Forest Service or BLM land in Central Oregon.
Mt. Bachelor’s Bike Park is about to open for the season.
Smith Rock is an amazing, beautiful place that should be a National Park, but is instead a park run by the State of Oregon. It is just 40 minutes from Sunriver, Oregon.
