There is an exciting new business coming to our neck of the woods in the Sunriver Business Park; a food cart lot in a park-like setting! No more traveling to Bend for tasty and unique food combinations made on a truck. Instead, head right on over to the Sunriver Business Park this summer and check out Elkibou’s. To help us introduce this new addition to the neighborhood, we’ve asked the owner, Mike, to do a guest post for us. What inspired this business? What can we expect? Read on, and thank you Mike!

Elkibou’s is to be a nod to the history of  Oregon and the Oregon Trail, to simpler times when early pioneers circled their wagons at the end of an active day, prepared homestyle food around a community fire and told stories of their day. There was a comfortable and welcome feel that just naturally encouraged conversation and laughter. Sunriver locals and visitors can briefly experience a little bit of that history at Elkibou’s Food Cart Park as the colorful food carts adorned with wagon wheels are circled around the fire serving many varieties of delicious cuisine prepared fresh by talented local chefs that enjoy the intimacy and face to face personality the food cart brings. Meet, chat and enjoy a cold, refreshing brew or sangria with new friends as you await your freshly prepared meal. Try two or three or four carts as you take in the Park.

The great food will bring you to Elkibou’s but the natural beauty, deep blue skies, bright starry nights, beer garden, fenced in grassy play area, heated northwest style pavilion and colorful seating will inspire promises to surely return.

Ride your bike, come as you are, but certainly blaze a trail with the family to Sunriver’s new food cart destination.

Seriously, isn’t this why we all come to Sunriver?   Enjoy!
