Will you be in Central Oregon on November 18th? If so, you’ll want to put the Sunriver’s Grand Illumination on your calendar! Families from near and far have made this event part of their holiday traditions for years. The team at the Sunriver has truly created something special for families to treasure with this annual event.

What is The Grand Illumination?

Each holiday season, the Sunriver places over 300,000 lights on their grounds. On November 18th, a magical night, you can witness them all turning on at once. There will be a visit from Santa Claus, live music, food vendors, and so much more!

There will be children’s craft projects, train rides, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, and sleigh rides to kick off the afternoon. At 4:30 PM, there will be live entertainment, followed by the lighting ceremony at 5:30 PM, accompanied by fireworks and Santa’s arrival at 6 PM. From then until 7:30, Santa will be sitting down for pictures with good little girls and boys. Grab some dinner at one of the many food vendors and be sure to have a nice hot beverage in your hand around 5:30 when the lights go on!

The best part of the evening will be watching your children’s faces glow just as those thousands of lights turn on. From then on, you’ll remember the night Santa started the holiday season with your family in Sunriver.
