Are you visiting Sunriver over Labor Day weekend? There is always a lot going on around here, but for Labor Day, there’s a whole lot of fun to be had. Take a peak at our list below and plan out your activities for the weekend.
Friday, August 31st:
Starry Nights at the Village at Sunriver – Classics Ayre Band – Stay close and head to the Village at Sunriver to rock out to some classic music from the 50’s and 60’s. Bring the family and dance the evening away, starting at 6pm for FREE.
Summer Concert Series at the Sunriver Resort – Precious Byrd – Another FREE live music option is at the Sunriver Resort. Grab a blanket and head to The Backyard to watch Precious Byrd, a high energy dance/rock band from Bend. Take some delicious food and local brews that can be purchased from resort restaurants.
Jonny Lang at the SHARC – Grammy Award winning artist, Jonny Lang is visiting Sunriver for a live show! The show is at the John Gray Amphitheater right outside of the SHARC. Grab a blanket or some low-profile chairs and enjoy the modern R&B style music of Jonny Lang. Tickets are available here.
The Little Woody Craft Brews, Cider and Whiskey Fest in Bend: Head to Bend for an afternoon or evening of tasting barrel-aged beers, ciders and whiskeys from across the Northwest. $35 VIP, $15 tasting pkg, $12 basic tasting pkg. Get more information here. Event goes through Saturday.
Saturday, September 1st:
Summer Bird Walks at the Sunriver Nature Center – Join Tom Lawler at the Sunriver Nature Center and explore the rich bird habitats of Sunriver. Be sure to wear sturdy, water-resistant footwear, bring a bottle of water and a pair of binoculars and be ready to be wowed by Tom’s keen eye and guidance while discovering a variety of species found in the wetlands, meadows and forest surrounding the Sunriver Nature Center. Solar System Planetarium Class at the Oregon Observatory – Head to the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver at 10:30am on Saturday for some incredible views of our solar system. Explore from an inflatable planetarium then build and paint your own take-home model of the solar system. $25 per student. Event website here.
Lazinka Sawmill Demonstration at the High Desert Museum – Discover how important this steam-powered sawmill was to homestead families in the High Desert while seeing it in action. Demonstrations are from 11am – 3pm on Saturday. Free with Museum admission.
Starry Nights at the Village at Sunriver – Hit Machine – The Village at Sunriver is hosting Hit Maching, a band you’ll never forget. This 5-piece band is energetic and plays hits from almost every era you can think of. Show starts at 6pm for FREE, sponsored by Village Bar & Grill.
Summer Concert Series at the Sunriver Resort – The Land Commanders (With special guests Jumblehead Trio) Farewell to Summer Show – A FREE live music option is at the Sunriver Resort just for you. Bring a blanket and enjoy some live music at the Sunriver Resort’s Backyard. The music is free and there will be food and beverage options nearby. The views are amazing and the music will be even better.
Sunday, September 2nd:
End of Summer Sale at the Village at Sunriver – A great way to end your long weekend! The amazing shops at the Village at Sunriver are holding a sidewalk sale. Stroll through the village and find some excellent discounts on fabulous items. Find souvenirs for all and remember your Sunriver vacation for years to come. Sale begins September 2nd at and goes through September 3rd.
