Discover Your Forest invites you to come snowshoe, ski or snowboard with a ranger. They are offering FREE interpretive snow tours at Mt Bachelor on weekends through March. The first will be a snowshoe tour Sat. Dec 22nd at 10am or 1:30. Snowshoes are provided. Tours last 90 minutes and no prior experience is needed. Participants must be 8 years or older and should dress appropriately. These intreptive tours will take place every weekend Sat and Sun and on school breaks..Beginning Jan 5th you can join a ranger for a ski or snowboard tour on Mt Bachelors groomed runs. The tour, which lasts an hour, begins at 2pm. You must have a your own lift ticket and appropriate equipment, as well as, basic riding skills.

Get Out There and Try Something New! Oregon Ski Guides has the perfect one-day introductory program for skiers and split boarders who haven’t ventured into the backcountry yet. They begin with the basics, intro to backcountry ski/splitboard equipment, skinning techniques as well as some instruction on avalanche beacon usage and rescue techniques. This is a full day trip with great guides. You will venture into the Three Sisters Wilderness.
February trips are on 2/9 and 2/23…. but other dates can be available upon request.
Always an audience favorite, this Winter Concert will feature the winners of the Central Oregon Symphony Association Young Artist Competition. Winners and repertoire will be announced in mid-December. Bookending these performances will be two staples of the orchestral repertoire. The concert will commence with Beethoven’s dramatic and powerful Overture to Egmont and conclude with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2. With this later work, subtitled “Little Russian,” Tchaikovsky captures the musical essence of the region known as Little Russia (now Ukraine), and has filled the work with folk songs from the area.

There’s never a bad day to visit one of Central Oregon’s roughly 30 breweries and try a sample or two – but there’s also one really awesome day to do just that: Zwickelmania!
The annual odd-sounding, one-day event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. Breweries across the state will open their doors for tours and tastings all day. It’s a great time to go behind the scenes with some of the biggest and most influential breweries in the entire country. (Deschutes Brewery is the 7th largest craft brewery in the U.S.)
You can meet brewers, ask them their secrets, taste new creations or old standards. It’s a chance to expand your beer horizons and learn a little about the industry in the process. . Additionally, the Oregon Brewers Guild will provide free shuttle buses in Portland, Eugene and Bend to ferry visitors among multiple breweries. Admission to Zwickelmania events and the shuttle bus service are both free.

Zwickelmania takes its name from the zwickel sample valve on beer conditioning tanks. This sample port is an essential tool in the brewing process and allows brewers to take quality control samples during the fermentation process.

Sisters Folk Festival is excited to announce their Winter Concert Series lineup. The amazing harmonies of Darlingside can be heard on March 6th. Darlingside performs all of their music around a single vocal microphone, inviting audiences into a lush, intimate world where four voices are truly one. Their 2016 performance at the Cambridge Folk Festival “earned an ecstatic reception and turned them into instant stars,” according to The Daily Telegraph. The band tours regularly throughout the United States, Canada, and the UK, and embarked on its first tour of Germany in November of 2018
