The boundaries between music, art and ecology collide as the Oregon State University Wind Ensemble and DJ Spooky perform “Heart of the Forest” Paul D. Miller, a composer, multimedia artist and writer who goes by the stage name DJ Spooky, composed the piece after four artist residencies at OSU’s H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest. The work, composed for a wind ensemble and turntables, explores a soundscape in which Miller draws from his immersive experience of visiting the forest during each of the four seasons of the year.
