“The Best of Both” is a unique bike race/ride to be staged in beautiful, Bend, Oregon, on June 16th, 2018. This is a brand new – never done before bike race sanctioned by OBRA (The Oregon Bike Racing Association). The event is the first of its kind to combine road cycling and mountain bike riding within one conclusive race distance, bringing a cross-section of competitive bike racers together for the first time to compete head-to-head. It consists of 62 miles on the stunning trans-Cascadian roads around Mt Bachelor and 23 miles of the MTB fast, flowing singletrack in the Deschutes National Forest.
The event has multiple options for riders of all levels of fitness and ability, with “Open Pro” Men and Women solo races, an amateur race, and a Team Relay. But this isn’t JUST a race. For those who want to cruise this course and enjoy the view, we have a fully supported “Fondo” style ride for those who wish to complete the course at their own pace with friends and weekend crews. Once the racers have hit the road, our Fondo riders head out onto this incredible road course. On re-entry at Wanoga, our riders transition to mountain bikes and escape onto our stellar single-track course from the trailhead in the event village.
And for those who want to share the experience, why not partner up and ride in our relay race or couples race? This event will challenge all levels of fitness and ambition. Get on board and help us make some history and then join us for the after party and awards ceremony at the 10 Barrel Brewing HQ in Bend. Welcome to The Best of Both – The Ultimate Dual-Discipline Bike Race.
